Spanish Point Paddlesurf Event - Last Paddlesurf.ie event of 2011

Saturday 5th saw the final 2011 Paddlesurf.ie event take place at Spanish Point Co.Clare.
Tides were favourable for all and meant starting time was reasonable and not too early, the sun came out and waves were good.

HP, IC and Waveski all went ahead with nice surfing as competitors tried to find speed on the waves and go for the lip.

After the event the Paddlesurf.ie AGM was held and some new plans to get more involved and develop the current paddlesurfers were made.

Irish Open 2011 PDF Print E-mail

The IO ran off successfully on Saturday at Easkey left. A small turn out for both kayak and waveski divisions but the surfing was top notch. All riders where enjoying the waves and the relaxed atmosphere. Gerry McGahey ran the show with the help of Richard and Morgan.

Morgan O Sullivan is back on the ski after a lengthy period out of the water following a mountain bike accident. His surfing hasn't suffered though as he made it to the finals. Gerry Mcgahey surfed exceptionally well with powerful top to bottom surfing and winning the HP. Fantastic to see dessie McGlinchey surfing in the waveski division, watch this space.
A brilliant free surf session took place after the comp in even better conditions as the tide filled over the reef.

Clare Comp - November 5th PDF Print E-mail

the clare comp will run tomorrow (saturday) with the meeting point in the middle of spanish point beach on the high car park at 10am

 

Howdy Ya'll,

November 5th see's a Kayaksurf and Waveski event in Clare somewhere between Lahinch and Doonbeg.

Location TBD based on swell leading up to event.

Paddlesurf AGM will follow the event.
