Friday saw a change in the plans due to time restraints and only Len from the Irish was in the water. He paddled a great heat and was sitting in second until the last second.
The third place sitter took off on the buzzer and what looked like a weak wave walled right on the shore and he went for a huge end move that ended in the sand and he was rewarded for his bravery/stupidity and Len fell into third and out of the comp. Eoin’s final was put off until tomorrow as well as the closing ceremony – but don’t worry the Irish will be starting the closing ceremony tonight, well everybody but Eoin.
The team’s finals ran today and Northern Ireland put on a great show in what has become a very competitive event. They finished in third and its a great achievement to make the podium for the second worlds in a row, well done to the whole team.
Good luck to Eoin for tomorrow.
